A RESOLUTION CONFERRING HONOR AND
HIGH RESPECT FOR MRS. GINOVIVA V. MURILLO, CENTENARIAN OF BO. BARRETTO OLONGAPO
CITY, WHO WILL CELEBRATE HER 100TH BIRTHDAY ON FEBRUARY 24, 2016 AN ACHIEVEMENT
AND DISTINCTION WORTHY OF
RECOGNITION
WHEREAS, Mrs. Ginoviva Murillo was born on February 24,
1916 and will be celebrating her 100th birthday this year. She is the widow of the
late Cipriano Murillo and currently residing at #72 Rizal Street, Bo. Barretto,
of this City;
WHEREAS, “Aleng Bebang” or “Manang Teba”
as she is fondly called by her family and friends is highly esteemed and
respected Olongapeño, has been part of this City’s heritage and may be
considered as one of our living legacy and a certified Olongapo Centenarian, a
rare one;
WHEREAS, Aleng Bebang or Manang Teba, the matriarch of the
family, has been a responsible mother to her six (6) children namely: Rafael,
Norma, Sopronio, Celestino, Carlito and Bonifacio who all became active members
of the local community;
WHEREAS, the Congress and the Senate has
been pushing for the passage of the proposed Centenarian Act into a national
law (thru House Bill No. 834 in 2013, House Bill 5780 in 2015, and Senate Bill
No. 449 in 2016) to honor centenarians like Aleng Bebang. While these measures
are not yet signed into law, the proposed incentives and benefits for our
centenarians are still on pending;
WHEREAS, being a highly urbanized City
and with the power provided by the Local Government Code, the City, thru the
City Council may spearhead and pass a resolution honoring Aleng Bebang as our
Olongapo Centenarian;
NOW,
THEREFORE, on
motion of City Councilor Elena C. Dabu, with the unanimous accord of the Members
of the Sangguniang Panlungsod present;

RESOLVED, AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, by
the Sangguniang Panlungsod in a session assembled to confer as it hereby
confers honor and high respect for Mrs. Ginoviva V. Murillo, centenarian of Bo.
Barretto Olongapo City, who will celebrate her 100th birthday on February 24, 2016 an achievement
and distinction worthy of recognition.
