A RESOLUTION CONGRATULATING MS. ANNA CHRISTINA VERGEL
RAQUEL SANTOS FOR BEING AWARDED as distinguished artist BY the
SOCIETY FOR CULTURAL ENRICHMENT, inc. IN THE FIELD OF
VISUAL ARTS AND PAINTING.
WHEREAS, the Society for Cultural
Enrichment, Inc. is an organization dedicated to the quest of conserving,
promoting and developing culture and the arts founded in 2008 by the late Gerry
Contreras;
WHEREAS,
Ms. Anna
Christina Vergel Raquel Santos, an Olongapeña was awarded as Distinguished
Artist by the Society for Cultural Enrichment, Inc. in the field of Visual Arts
and Painting alongside Ryan Cayabyab, Liza Macuja-Elizalde and Ramon Orlina;
WHEREAS,
Ms. Anna
Christina Vergel Raquel Santos earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Visual
Communication Arts from University of the Philippines Diliman. She has
also taken courses in the Philippine School of Interior Design (PSID) and took
courses in her Master’s Degree in Architecture at UP Diliman;
WHEREAS,
Ms. Anna
Christina Vergel Raquel Santos is a former University Athletic Association of
the Philippines (UAAP) athlete for swimming and track and field, an elite
triathlete, and a commercial and print-ad model;
WHEREAS,
Ms. Anna
Christina Vergel Raquel Santos is one of
the artists of the University of the Philippines Diliman who was chosen to be
part of the Centennial Anniversary commemorative book alongside with Philippine
National Artist Ben Cab, Joya, and Abueva to name a few. She has mounted four
solo art shows to date;

WHEREAS,
Ms. Anna
Christina Vergel Raquel Santos is presently the youngest board member of the UP
Diliman College of Fine Arts Alumni Association and member of Filipino Portrait
Artist Guild. She is currently spearheading the UP Extension School of Arts in
Subic Bay Freeport Zone (SBFZ);
NOW,
THEREFORE, on motion of City Councilor Alreuela M. Bundang-Ortiz with the
unanimous accord of the Members of the SangguniangPanlungsod present;
RESOLVED,
AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, by the SangguniangPanlungsod in session assembled
to congratulate as it hereby congratulates Ms. Anna Christina Vergel Raquel
Santos for being awarded as Distinguished Artist by the Society for Cultural
Enrichment, Inc. in the field of Visual Arts and Painting.
